I have a house that back up to another house that is set nearly 3 feet high than our house. When the neighbors run the sprinklers their water runs into our patio; so much so that a part of the patio is a squishy yard. I am planning subsequent spring to dig a generous hole (about 4' x 6' x 5 or 6 feet deep) contained by the problem area and imbue this with rock afterwards cover with dirt again. I hold been told this is call a sump. But whatever it is what is the best opening to get the hose down off the patio and build the "sump" so that I have a majority yard.
I know that I can work near her sprinklers, threaten them and have them fix the problem. I am not doing this. I merely want a way to move the river off the patio. Such as the "sump".
