Should I cut the stalk of my tulips after blooming have stopped or depart from them alone?

Cut the core head {dead flower} bad but let the rest die stale naturally

Hi michelle, ideally you should allow the Tulip stalks to die back first back cutting them stale, resisting that temptation to cut them making it look neater, that approach the plant is not stressed and nutrients are returned back to the ground.

Keep the flowers watered and feed and have a great summer!

Answers:    Let the stalks wither out first. The bulbs are still getting nutrients from the stalks.
