We are having a brand new driveway installed and I want to know if rebar is necessary to product it strong enough to support cars. Also, it will be four inches sticky, is that thick satisfactory? Is wire mesh adequate for a driveway? Does the mesh need to be put on blocks to ensure it is within the middle of the concrete or is it ok if they just verbs it up as they pour? I don't plan on parking RV's on it or anything.

Driveway, even for a car wishes to be a minimum of 6 inches thick. One critical article is that the contractor MUST compact the ground under it remarkably thoroughly. Mesh works but re-bar is much better. If you use rebar, make sure to place them at lowest at 18 inches on center, each track (grid) and it musht be in the middle of the slab. Concrete spaces (little blocks) are best to place under the rebar to sort sure the reinforcing doesn't move down. If they just verbs it up while pouring, it WILL sink down and later crack. You also want to make sure they cut within expansion joints every 10 foot to control cracking.
yes !! they do need rebar. ive mademany.its needed for support and to hold the frame
