Seed starting paraphernalia - gel-like, jelly-like substance? There is a jelly-like substance forming on top of the coconut...
There is a jelly-like substance forming on top of the coconut fiber surrounded by my seed starting paraphernalia. It's gel-like or jelly-like. Anyway, I already planted seeds and watered a few days ago. Today, I looked at my individual cell and I noticed this substance. I touched the jelly substance.. I get a tingling, swelling reaction contained by my finger and arm. I'm just a moment or two concerned. Nothing serious right now..I'm still alive.
Answers: There are substances that give a hand soil and compost retain moisture, and these typically become clear jelly like, once they hold taken in river. Seed starter kits regularly contain this, to help growers should they not survive to water sufficiently. You can buy impossible to tell apart stuff, and place it into tubs etc, usually in the form of powder or crystals. It may be that it wasn't mixed ably into the soil/compost, hence it being on the surface - otherwise, it may also be below surface plane.
There's a link to one product here - compare it to see if it's similar - http://watercrystals.com/WaterCrystals_l...
Your swelling may niggardly that you have an allergy to it, and I'd speak to a pharmacist or dr just about it - they may recommend anti-histamine, which is good for plentiful allergies. I'd wear gloves next time you return with into contact with it too.
Hope this help.
I bet it's a substance to absorb and hold river. Some disposable diapers contain similar gel particles. Mothers would verbs it came from the toddler, not the diaper.
