i wanna try to grow an apple tree from apple seeds that were contained by an apple i ate. my friend tried it and he actually got a plant. how open should i plant it? how much should i water it? how many times a sunshine should i water it? do u hav anyother things to add so that i can gain it to grow? can u use plant food or it? will it hurt the plant or seed? plz help! thxs!!

Answers:    The soil should be street lamp and well drained, it may require you to water several times a morning to once everyday or 2. The soil need to just become dry beforehand you water again. Whne you stick your finger in the soil an inch or two , if the sol is moist due away beside watering at that time. it is always best to sample the soil back you water. Waering also depoend on the enviromental conditions ie: hot, cold, humid, dry, windy. Hot , dry, and really blowing you increase the waterings, cool, humid, and over cast water smaller quantity. With that said you water according to soil and enviromental conditions.
The debth of the seed planting is no more than 4-6 inches. Do not plant too philosophical or water too much or have a poorly drained soil , most repeatedly damping off occur. The soil should be peat, perlite or pumice, vermiculite, and sand. I do not remember the exact ratio but however most reliable retail nurseries and garden centers carry a a pip starting mix that would be appropiate to use.
Do not fertilize at the time of planting , usually you want to fertilize about 1 month after the seed germinate. Using a water souluable fertilizer as you water ( fertigation) should be utilized. The type of fertilizer should be low within nitrogen, higher in phosphorus and potassium.
It is other fun growing plants from seed, it is very rewarding to see them grow. Too bleak however appels grown seed will not produce the exact apple you were origionally becuse seed o not come true to type to the parent plant. Isn't life interesting that way?
