Answers:    No, don't do that. Goldfish put their mouths on everything, and the flower stalks could be toxic or could contain toxic chemicals. Use a regular pitcher.
Spray or remove grass?
The only plants that I'm aware of being alright near fish of any sort are lucky bamboo and pothos plants. Flowers are probably not recommended as the flowers might release stuff into the river (from the cut ends) that might poison the fish.
