I just bought a house concluding May and my lawn is within really bad shape. It is mostly ST. Augustine, but slice of it has crab grass and some of it is clover. It is also more brown than the rest of the houses. I want to plant grass nut. What would be the best grass seed to plant this spring and what element fertilizer should I use (20-10-10?)?
A robust St Augustine grass will out compete most other grasses and weeds...if you didn't do anything but proper mowing and watering this time subsequent year you would see a big difference, maybe even more of a patio than what you ever thought you could get. Before comparing the greenness to your neighbor's grassland make sure the sense their grass isn't green is due to weeds or that they didn't over core for the Winter back contained by October, depending on where you are located, St Augustine lawns should be brown this time of year. If you plant grass kernel and then do the proper watering and mowing the St Augustine will out compete it so you probably necessitate to get rid of it since seeding within another grass. If you do seed the meadow you may want to use a fertilizer with the middle number man higher than the other two, to help out stimulate root growth and apply it at half the rate the rucksack suggest unless it is a product specifically designed for new seedling growth.

Cold states:
Wait until in arrears spring to do anything.
Warm states such as southern Florida and California:
If it is warm and dry, river your grass as it is now once per week for roughly 30 to 40 minutes per each bit. The S.A. grass will soon take over the unbroken yard. It is wonderful grass and is aggressive. Mow your grassland once per week.....set you mower to about 2-1/2 to 3 inches. Fertilize beside lawn fertilizer for S.A. grass. Be sure to read the pod for complete instructions.
