The soil is where it adjectives starts. Pumpkins, squash and so on love large amounts of compost and aged droppings. Pumpkins take roomy amounts of water and fertilizer to grow on form.
The right fertilizer will help also

Nitrogen: Good color and growth.
Potassium: Root growth and disease resistant.
Potash: Fruit nouns.

Just planting in the ground isn't adequate and this could be why your plants are aborting the fruit because they are undersupplied these things. I have have giant vines and more squash I could eat because of using significant amounts of manure within my hills.
They inevitability at least 6 hours of full sun.

Couldn't hurt to enjoy your soil tested to see what you need, appropriate luck.
Could be moisture causing it,try putting down a mulch approaching in a strawberry bed.
