I have 2 house plants and i have notice that in the soil there are little white ball that can be crushed between my fingers.
What are they?
Will they harm my plants?
How do get rid of it?
Thanks
ps definatly not stones
Probably perlite which the soil company's join to the soil for moisture retention. Nothing to worry about. You will find these little white ball in compost. I'm just not clever ample to know what they are.
It is something that is added to the compost the plants are in. Not sure what it is or what it is supposed to do. They are moisture retaining ball - no harm to the plant - they just hold the hose down a little to keep the soil moist
Answers: It's usually a polystyrene type stuff called 'Perlite'. It's there as an aerator, surrounded by order for the roots to move easily through the compost. It's completley adjectives and harmless.
A lot of growers use it for all sorts of plants. You don't necessitate to get rid of them, as they are helping keep the compost street lamp and aerated
probably spider eggs, spiders more than likely left ages ago.
