I am trying to identify a plant. It is approximately 4 feet soaring. The leaves are green "hand shaped" . The unusual piece is the stalk. It is covered beside small (approximately .5 cm) red, fuzzy feathery bits adjectives up and down the stalk (too many to count). How might I best stir about identify this plant?

Answers:    At first I thought of a fern but cannot find a picture for the one that I am thinking of (the "red fuzzy feathers bit" made me think of spores)...
