Answers:    Pineapple Guava have a most pleasant aroma to their foliage when rubbed. Most of the places I enjoy seen this contained by South Texas are places where they use it for a stall. I suppose if left alone it would grow into a small tree where on earth it might start producing fruit. I've seen one plant (in 38 yrs. of nursery trade) next to fruit on it. Not to get discouraged, electric fire climates probably have better results next to pineapple guava than colder ones, similar to the growth of bananas. I'm not sure about the pollination requirements; you might check next to your county extension agent. Best to You!
