Pinching a Mandevilla vine? I just bought some mandevilla plants to climb up a wooden arbor...
I just bought some mandevilla plants to climb up a wooden arbor in my patio. I've been reading some websites on care for the plants and am for a moment confused on 'pinching them off to create a bushier plant'. Where exactly do I pinch off? And how regularly? I would like a bushy plant, but I also want it to grow up and over my arbor. Thanks for your help!
Answers: Pinching a plant you cut or pinch rotten part of the new growth. I wouldn't pinch stale any more than the flowers of a new plant. Let it get established first.
Once vines enjoy developed adequate roots, most just keep hold of on growing above ground. To keep a vigorous climber fit, you must do the following:
Remove any dead, damaged, diseased, or unproductive stems.
Remove overly intertwined stems.
Remove errant stems, especially those growing away from the support.
Direct its growth.
Limit its growth.
I hope this site will help.

pinching a plant is basically to cut it wager on. dont cut it back until it is at a disired height and is growing too big. later it will grow bushier
