Patchy meadow - HELP!? I sowed grass seeds 2 and a half weeks ago and the...
I sowed grass seeds 2 and a half weeks ago and the spinal column part of the garden which has more shade have done lovely, the grass is probably about 2 inches high and looking vigorous however the front section of the garden is growing but is quite scarce surrounded by comparison to the back. I am watering nearly every day. Should I I don`t know throw down some more grass seed at the front and continue watering as I enjoy done? Or should I wait until it is fully established before I do anything more - impart it time to catch up? Any advice is welcome.
Can you post a photograph and I will let you know what is scheduled.
Best to wait until the autumn in the past sowing any more seed. I would keep watering as recommended, for another couple of weeks and see what happen. The constant watering set up a fungus. Stop
Tp late in the summer to correct. HEAT will take out any seeds that may germinate.
Plant say within Late sept for beat resultes
Answers: I would initially check 2 things.
1. Is the "sparse" area getting more sunlight thus drying out quicker needing more dampen?
2. Is the grass seed you're using rated for the Full-Sun nouns? Is this seed better for Shade or Partial Shade? This would explain the shaded area doing better.
If neither of these create sense then look at the soil pH, soil compaction, or needing fertilizer within that area because of different soil.
