We recently bought a dogwood tree and planted it contained by our yard. There be 3 branches that were limp pretty low so i cut them off and put them contained by a jar of water. Does anyone how to properly sprout these branches so they will grow roots and i could replant them contained by the yard?? Should i save them inside or outside?? If anyone knows how to do this please permit me know. Thanks
Answers:    In my experience dogwood is difficult if not impossible to root.

If they are going to root your best bet is to root them surrounded by mixture of potting soil containing perlite and sand. You may also want to dip the stems in a rooting hormone available at garden stores.

For hardwood to root they do best contained by humid environment. Place stems in soil contained by a flower pot and place pot in a clear plastric pod and water. Seal the sack and place in somewhat shaded area outside. Only rewater when near is an absence of condensation on the pod.
