ok so there is a stray rabbit contained by my back courtyard..i live up by chicago and its very cold and really blowing...the grass is somewhat about more than partially a foot tall...UNder my picnic table......and the bunny have been hiding below there surrounded by the grass for the past couple days......i want to relieve it cause i know its cold and i dont want it to die...but how do i aid it with out it going hopping away while i am trying to help out it....ps the picnic table is right by my back door. sould i send for someone....and if yes ..then who....or should i do zilch...any suggestions or help here?

Rabbits have be overwintering themselves in greatly cold climates for eons. Just leave it alone. It may stay awhile if it is relatively nonchalant where it is, and out of the entwine, or it may move on to find another spot. Rabbits do not hibernate, so they may pick several different places to winter over.
If it is a unreserved rabbit (brown), you should leave it alone. Wild animals can assistance for themselves much better than we can. If it is obviously a pet rabbit (white, black, spotted, etc.) afterwards you should call animal control to come block it with a live trap. Someone may be looking for it and they will telephone animal control to see if it has be found or reported found. It is best to let professionals feel it since they know the easiest ways to catch things short harming them.
