I have neglected my pool due to weakness, but know I want to close it for the winter. But it is green with algae. Should I drain the pool and scrub the liner, and if I do can I exit it empty adjectives winter, Or is there a chemical I can put in to clear it up before closing. It is an above ground pool. Any relief would be appreciated.
Answers:    We have have the same problem. Lots of shock and an algaeside will clear it up. If you are using clorine to treat the pool we buy the cheapest bleach the we can buy and attach 4 or 5 gal. to our 24foot by 52 inch pool. its cheap and it works. You will have to verbs the filter quite habitually.
I had like thing evolve to me. What type of liner is your pool? We have a concrete inground pool an dthis worked for us. We enjoy about a 20000 gallon pool and we added nearly 10 lbs of shock, at one time, to it to kill everything. We kept scrub the bottom of it make ming sure the shock dissolved. We also but within some green and yellow alge cleaner and that did the trick along beside the shock. Your best bet is to contact your local pool supply store. They usually give great suggestion for free.
