My peonies and bleeding heart are not coming up? I planted them both in impulsive April (appox 6 weeks ago)...

I planted them both in impulsive April (appox 6 weeks ago) from a bulb and neither of them are coming up. I planted them both with a compost mix near bonemeal about 1- 2 inches lower than the top soil.

Any input on what is happening?

Answers:    Bleeding heart is not a bulb, it's a fibrous rooted plant. Just be off them alone, perhaps the soil be cold when you planted them. There is still loads of time for the to show through.

Peonies need to be planted relatively shallow. The "eyes" should be just almost not covered. If you think you may own planted them too deeply, you can sympathetically remove some of the soil over them until you can see if there is any growth.
