My gardenia bushes look burned and closely of the leaves are wilted and brown. Should i cut it rear legs? i bought 4 gardenia shrubs at lowes this fall and planted them...

i bought 4 gardenia shrubs at lowes this fall and planted them within october. they arent looking too great. they are brown and wilted (about 60% is brown, 40% green). Should i cut them back, or only just remove all the limp leaves? HELP!
