is all limp. I suggest it's dying but I don't know what to do to bring it back to life. I tried sunlight and hose. Nothing. What else should I be doing?
Answers:    Have you removed it from pot and permanently planted it yet?
Also what climate (state) are you within?

Edit: If it has not been planted, after it needs to be, preferably in full sunlight.
Also, It's a tropical plant so it cannot sustain temperature below 38*.
Don't over water them, damp soil is adjectives that is necessary. Give it plenty of sunshine, and don't wet it for several days. Newly planted it will need watering at the most twice a week.
They are colorful and very strong plants that once growing on their own require minimal caution.
Good Luck, ;-)
It's probably damping off from too much hose. They don't like "wet feet". It's best to furnish them well-drained soil. These grow very well surrounded by the sandy soil of South Florida. your croton? like the ones you eat? strange.
