Answers:    Hi:
I am a landscaper and designer. My question is do you enjoy any grass on your lawn, or are you starting from score? If you are starting from scratch, your husband may want to do these steps first:

Put weed murderer down. (if needed) Wait up to one week before preparing your ground. You can till over the entire nouns. Turning the soil over a few times is great for your seed. Rake out and put the mess in near the soil. Apply your grass seed and draw from on a good watering agenda. Put hay or straw down over your seed, as this will minister to retain moisture. I would wait to make a payment fertilizer until after your roots get established.

If you own an existing lawn, I recommend renting an aerator. You can rent this appliance at most rental places. This is heavy, so your husband may want to aid you. It will make tiny holes within your ground so the seeds will gain access to. Apply the seeds, put the hay or straw down, and wet properly.

I will link you to the outdoor facet section of my website. There is a page on sod versus pip that may give you some other information. Properly prepping any lawn is the switch to success of your grass. I will also relation you to the site map, as this page has everything i.e. on the website. There are many articles, tips and technique that may be useful to you. If you necessitate further help, have a feeling free to contact me. I hope this helps some, and own a great day!
