Please help me!

So if I bought a newborn Jap Maple or Oak (or any certain tree), cliped it down a moment or two, I could make it a bonsai?? But the trunks are so skinny on a kid tree! How does one do it?? I've been trying to find this out! Thanks so much and God bless!
It can take years to take a treeto the bonsai style you see in stores. It is done freshly as you said, but requires a lot of restraint.

Answers:    Hon, bonsai is an art. You start small, keep hold of it small, by stunting its growth and still keeping it alive.

Best result usually acheived quickly by starting next to a naturally stunted plant from disposition. Some bonsai have be selectively pruned to increase trunk girth - obvious, poor technique. Starting by core will take years of self-control..."wax on, wax off" Karate Kid
