Answers: Lupine comes in a variety of colors.
Perhaps the plant you bought be mistagged...or that particular seed be not cleanly pollinated, and in a batch of seed bred to produce pink flowers, you happened to get one that produced pale flowers, because of accidental pollination by the wrong plant.which would not be known until it flowered.
Try again - and to get sure you're getting the color you want, you may want to buy a lupine in flower - so you can SEE what color it is.
