Currently we have a Chokecherry tree which is only 4 years infirm and we do trim & prune each year. This year it seems to be too big it is almost 30 ft high and last year it started up-rooting (we tried to re-dig the roots deeper but it didn't work). We are going to remove this tree and we are looking for a tree that looks nice and does not get that elevated in such a short period of time. We approaching the White Birch but does it grow fast? We do not want any type of evergreen.
birch have surface roots just similar to the choke cherry
