Looking for a powerful 'weed killer', ( even one which I own to mix myself, if I know the chemicals to put contained by
SODIUM CHLORATE, BUT KEEP AWAY FROM PLANTS AS IT CREEPS THRU SOIL Hi you have not said what you want to control and where I'll hang on to an eye open for a question amendment or email me
To begin at the commencement, topsoil is full of weed seeds, every time the soil is disturbed, seeds see the desk light and promptly germinate, left to themselves they eventually settle down to an ecosystem of their own.
To permanently halt this process the cheapest method is to spread adjectives salt, in so doing you will own contaminated the land and if any one finds out you will be ostracised and will have eco-warriors camp at your gates.
To achieve a interim effect, sodium chlorate will effectively kill every thing rotten for about three months, but will break down and you will have to treat it again.
Neither of these are chiefly useful if you actually want to grow something, glycophosphate will massacre everything that is growing, neutralise and you can then convey out your own planting, however if you disturb the soil you will wake up dormant seeds and you will own weeds growing amongst your planting.
If you have time cover the ground near some opaque material, the weed will not be able to photosynthesise and will expend the reserves of food they started out with and die, you will consequently be in the same position you would hold been in near the glycophosphate.
In brief, if you want a desert and no friends, salt, if you want a near desert, sodium chlorate, if you want to grow something of your own, murder off the original plant life, plant up with minimal disturbance of the soil and weed.
there is a weedkiller that farmers use but i cannot remember the name. it comes surrounded by a five litre container and needs to be heavily diluted as it is so concentrated. check under an agrcultural site. sorry i cannot remember the signature. i have just remembered the first name it think it is stacato!! hooray i remembered. Glyphosate based for tedious weeds. SBK (2,4,5,T) for brushwood, brambles etc.
If for the grass - Non toxic: SUGAR.
Link gives sq ft ratio...this and another author both propose that weeds come up because the soil isn't healthy. If the soil isn't respectable, weeds take over. The sugar provides nutrients for the grass to grow and flourish.
If you opt to try it, the other author says to water the sugar surrounded by once it's applied.
Best to you!
Answers: I don't recommend mixing. Chemicals can work against each other.
Round-up is very effectual against all but the worst weeds, but nearby are other products containing glyphosate on the market. It's a popular chemical because it's relatively non-toxic and is deactivated on contact with soil.
Please read the sign properly and use the recommended application rate.
What do you want to get rid of? Have you identified it?
You could be wasting your money if you don't.
Here's one that kicks the heck out of weed. If you are not worried about being selective, a product call Roundup is the one.Kills everything. Get it from country stores/farmers outlets, etc.
Round up is the most effective at bloodshed everything however if you want a more selective weedkiller (ie. your killing weeds on your lawn) later i wouldnt advise it.
There are more powerful products out there but you enjoy to be licensed to purchase and use them.
Also make sure you dont spray when its windy or you could ruin up killing plants that get caught within the "drift" from your spray and do it when its dry with no rain one forecast to avoid it concentrating in puddles.
I use Round Up. You may purchase it at your local Home Depot or Lowes home upsurge stores. round up is the best i have ever used.
