do you HAVE to plant them in the ground for the first couple of years if they're small or can they thrive surrounded by a planter?
the reason i ask is, we rent and the ultimate house we lived at we bought a bush and we've moved. i don't want to end up investing within another bush only to move again minus it.

Answers: If you go and get a large satisfactory pot, and have average drainage it should be fine. You want to create the ideal conditions within the pot just as you would if it be in a garden. They do not resembling their roots wet for a long time, try to maintain ph arout 6-7 and add a bit of wood ash from time to time. High nitrogen fertilizers will produce poor blooms.The taller the pot the better because they similar to to set deep roots.
