The garden hose bib or "hydrant" is 14" and has a anti-siphon valve built surrounded by. The ant-siphon valve hammers loudly. Why is it and how can I fix it? Thanks Ray
Answers: When you replaced the spigot you may have lost the air contained by the risers in your house. There should be some risers that absorb the shock of the marine being shut off and the sudden pressure build up from the stop of the flow of dampen. If you have an electric water stove shut it off. Then shut off your river supply to the house. Open all the valves surrounded by your house everything outside and in and allow all the marine to drain out. When it is done draining close everything and turn your water back on. The faucets will spit and sputter till adjectives the lines are full again but your shock risers will still have air trapped. If this doesn't work I own no idea.
