Answers:    I prefer john deere over kubota, although i believe john deere make one of the best products for non comercial use. It really all comes down to your preference. Neither contrivance is known for having deeply of problems, so if i was you id turn with what you already know and love.

Having been a mechanic and worked on both machines I would a bit work on a Kubota. Both machines are excellent machines but I found Kubota have a few little refinements that clear for easier servicing. Although I never had to worry in the order of running costs I would say the Kubota could be cheaper to run but you could check that out with your friend. As fuel prices hang on to rising it maybe something to consider.
