Ok I live in Southeast michigan. I own a nice jap maple but I have two problems next to it, one: Its growing only on one side and two: its starting to suspend over the drive way. I want to turn the tree something like 45 degress and move is back almost 20 inches. Its may 13th, is this the wrong time of you to attempt this?
Thanks in finance for any help and Go WINGS!!

Answers: Transplant resembling you wood any other tree. Depending on how long it's been in that the roots could be fairly ably established. Make sure you dig thoughtful and get ALL of the rootball. If you harm any roots make sure and trim them rotten before you replant. Make sure the hole you replant surrounded by is 3 times the size of the rootball. If the angle is poor...the tree may be weighted unevenly. Stake the tree until for a year to keep hold of it and it's new angle. Give it plenty of marine because it's nearly Summer. It may lose some of it's leaves because of shock, but it should be fine. Add some good fertilzer not too much Nitrogen though. You want it to work on roots.not vegetative growth. Good Luck.
