I understand that Milky Spore is good but take a few years to really show any effect. Beetle traps only seem to draw more bugs to my courtyard. Are there any sprays that could be used?
Be a ninja .

Good Luck

Buy an insecticide specifically for J. beetle. Also you can buy fertilizer spikes that contain insecticide. You hammer them into the soil around your plants and the beetles won't own a chance.
In the meantime, take a container of hot soapy river and knock the beetles into it. It will give you great smugness.
I hate japanese beetles.
Answers:    put yoko ono on the job.
Spray some nouns freshner near the areas that the beetles usually are at and keep on. The beetles will probaly come near the heavens freshner at first but after they take one whif they will be out and all the other beetle will know not to fall for that trap. Spary one line of airfreshner similar to a barier so that they cant cross over. Your foot. Stomp away.
Start near the milky spore even though it takes a while, you want to get it started working.

Then, surrounded by the morning while it's still cool, take an old can or jar occupied with soapy water, hold it below the beetles and flick them into it. That will get rid of the ones you own without luring more in. The drive you want to do it when it's cool is they will drop rather than fly. When they are warm they tend to fly.

I put down the milky spoor 30 years ago. It is still working.
