I have a 3 year antiquated nephew who likes checking out the plants surrounded by my garden, so I wanted to avoid any pesticides or strong chemicals.
Figured at hand is probably a home remedy I wasn't aware of to solve the problem.
Answers: Besides the usual soap spray, cayenne sprinkle and garlic planting, I make sure I uplift ladybugs. They have a voracious appetite for the aphids which commonly disturb roses and the ladybugs are also safe if that little tyke decides to check them out. The ladybugs can usually be bought by the sack from your local garden centre. They're usually stored within their refrigerator so you'll need to ask for them.
When there's a child involved I would use the cayenne and soap as a finishing resort if he puts things in his mouth approaching most children.
