I just moved to Vermont this former winter and when the plow came it broke some of my flower bed by the road. It is terribly large and go right along the road. Well when the plow comes it scoops up adjectives the snow on the road and pushes it into my bed. There be some tulips just planted end fall and they come up but did not look so great. Now that the flowers are dead the green parts are wan and sickly where as other tulips on my property that enjoy flowered and gone do not look like this. I planted profoundly of spring bulbs after the ground was be workable and nothing come up but a few straggly strands and they are Day Lilies which I thought grew easily. I did everything right carefulness wise for them and put fresh composted droppings with them. The same piece for some dahlias that I planted there. They appear to be coming up but not doing as well as other dahlias I enjoy planted on the property. What can I plant there it looks horrible! Will raging flowers from seed do okay?
Answers: mmmmmmm,perhaps.
Allot of the municipalities are presently using Mag-chloride and yes it can be happening.A ring up to your municipal office may shed some bedside light.
There was a topic here surrounded by Colorado on this issue, about roadside plant life wish I could find. There is big speculation it's true.
On a personal note: I am identifiable with the nation that was instrumental contained by mag-chlorine use in the I-70 corridor (Glennwood Springs,Colorado)
sounds similar to a bad travel case of rock salt. it cause everything to die. so much so, that the easter before later, we had an outdoor jamboree and easter egg hunt, and we made homeade ice cream, we have to use rock salt and some of it get on the ground, i still have no grass within that spot. try moving your flower beds away from the road where on earth they can't get anymore interrupt done to them from the road workers. good luck.
