It has taken over and keep coming up through my hardwood mulch. Help Please!
Answers:    Crabgrass is an annual that will die come the first frosts this fall but it will return subsequent spring from its seeds. RoundUp or hot dampen may kill the flora this season but, again, it will be back subsequent spring. Your problem is the mass quantity of seed produced by this plant. Use a pre-emergent next spring to control nut germination & you will not have this problem. Apply a pre-emergent around the time that the forsythia bushes start blooming and sea the product in all right. Preen Garden Weed Preventer is a typical pre-emergence labeled for the control of crabgrass in an pretty garden available at most home & garden centers. Read & follow all sign instructions when purchasing or applying a pesticide.

Also be careful how you marine your garden. Frequent, short watering encourages core germination. It is always best to dampen deeply and infrequently.
Spray ROUNDUP, (sold at Wal-Mart) on crabgrass and it will die within a few days and it won't grow back.
