Is in that a purpose for garden slugs apart from consumption my plants?

Answers:    I was wondering this completely thing today when putting slug pellet down to stop them (and snails) from eating my contemporary plants. Are slugs/snails any good for anything? I'd love to know.

David g (below) - seriously? they hold homing instincts? I have to confess [blush] I do lob them into subsequent doors garden, because I thought that was kinder than drowning them within beer, or using pellets.

Important slice of the food chain.Snails are clever rascal,they get plentifully of sex,are unfussy eaters and have a equipped home on their back.They are adaptable and live in adjectives corners of the world.In one wet hours of darkness they travel incredible distances,often covering your garden,up the side of your house,over the roof,down the side and vertebrae...in one evening.They are also "homing creatures" and studies own shown they will return to their original spot from up to 2 miles away.So chucking them into subsequent doors garden is nothing to them to return.Give the guys a break
