I have a fish pond specifically in the middle of my courtyard which hardly get any shade in the summer heat- Is at hand any thing that I could buy to help out cover it or shade it somewhat?I have a bridge over it, hold the pumps and filters going, enjoy tried a huge umbrella over it, but last year I actully cooked adjectives my fish- My daughter had made this for me, not realize how much sun it gets- Any hely will be appericiated. Answers: Some kind of awning or tarp. I cover my pool within the summer to keep the sun rotten it. I use bungie cords and attach them to the fence. It keep the tarp about 5ft above the pool. Works great surrounded by this hot Texas sun. Otherwise the water temp get over 90 or more. With the tarp it keeps it around 80.
My husband bought one of those cloth gazebos at Target, it covers our pond and have shade netting on the sides as well. Depending on the size of your pond, I am not sure if this will be sizeable enough -- you can check at your local sward and garden center to see what they have as very well.
