I tilled the lawn and im going to apply stater fertilizer, but im not sure if the fertilizer with hold the important things in it when I apply the seed next month in August. I live within tempe, arizona which gets really hot in the summer. Should I linger until August to put the fertilizer and the seed or can i just apply the fertilizer in a minute and save time when i apply the seeds following?
Fresh fertilizer can kill your seeds.

If you have not already applied the seed consequently you need to do so. It will need time to germinate and grow. You will involve to spread the seed then move about back over and make sure the seed are covered by no more than half inch of dirt. Do not fertilize until your lawn is mostly covered. If you fertilize right away you can shock and eradicate the seeds. If your just planting later they will need lots of water! I would continue untill closer to the time you seed. The fertilizer may leach away if you put in on to rash
Answers:    Your starter fertilizer is formulated to be applied with the seed. It will not burn or execute seeds or new sprouts. If you apply it a month or so ahead of time surrounded by a hot, dry climate you will likely be wasting it. Put it down with the pip.
