Ok, I'm new to houseplants. I enjoy a purple waffle, a spider plant, and a red edged peperomia Jellie. This is what I found on the lattice for soil types:
purple waffle - "Use a GOOD rich potting soil (a soil that retains water even so drains well), such as an African violet mix. If you want to mix your own whip: 1 part humus (leaf mold) and 1 bit peat."
spider plant - "general purpose potting soil"
peperomia clusiifolia - "standard lamp, well drained compost containing plenty of humus"
Is in attendance one sort of potting soil I can purchase that will work for all three of these?
All of these plants will do economically in an African Violet soil. The soil is rich plenty and they will most likely be hardier.
General all purpose for me. I don't approaching African Violet mix, too silty. Waffle can be tricky to grow, Spider can last decade or more, Peperomia is ok, not a legitimate fan here.
Have fun, consider, learn and maintain trying. It's the only bearing any of us learned.
Answers: I've never used anything but a common potting soil, and have hygienic plants. Use a good talent though. I bought some generic potting soil from Lowe's and it doesn't drain very okay and gets really compacted and tough.
