friends of ours turned theirs into a 'hobbit house'.... near a fake round door, and a lantern outside for a 'light'...... somewhat short fence and total admission money and some flowers did it up right....
or, use it to plant vines... ivy, or a flowering one like clematis... or punkins or cukes.... merely make sure you can return with to the door without ducking any flying point!!....I envy you your storm room!!.... you will love it the day it save your life!!!.... showing or not!!.....
Eyesore or not you really don't want to obscure it. In overnight case of a storm you don't want stuff flying nearby and possibly detrimental it or blocking your in/out access.
