I'm constructing a garden and entail tips? I am constructing a garden at my church and right now all...

I am constructing a garden at my church and right now all here is is grass on the area. I need to verbs up the grass and mix it around and maybe put more soil down. But what I am asking is how much grass should I dig. Like how low or something. Please help. And if you have any other standard tips they are welcome
You need to go below the roots to prevent the grass from taking over after your garden is planted. Also believe about the drainage. You dont want your plants to get flooded when it rain. To much water will kill them. Figure out what type of plants you want to plant, how big they will bring. Then figure out how big the plants will get for the spacing. I would move a little extra room after that in suitcase you want to add something in the adjectives. you could find your answer here:

My tip is that if you're going to build a garden surrounded by your churchyard, you should be sure it will be as easy to maintain as mown grass is. Are you doing the vestry a favor to construct a garden that requires more continuation than a lawn mower?
I think you inevitability to consult with members of the Buildings and Grounds committee, if not don't build the garden. Dont leave the grass. If I were you, I wouldnt verbs up the grass and mix it around... It'll more likely than not grow back. Get a tiller, similar to the other woman said... Better yet, dig up the grass later in the area you dont want grass, afterwards go down to a walmart or homedepot and go acquire some of that black tarp that you lay down before you garden. This will help to prevent the grass from coming wager on and definately save you a huge amount of time pulling weeds. hope this help
Answers:    I would find someone that has a rototiller or can rent one..it will allow it to move about down about 4 to 5 inches and work the ground to make it better for planting..if the soil wishes more top soil or additives you can work that in. Big lumps in the soil variety it hard for the plants to grown. Rototillers are the easiest and similiar to a lawnmower with blades.
