I'd similar to to identify this purple flower. Does anyone know what it is? http://flickr.com/photos/kiragunderson/2...

it looks kinda like a lilac severely pretty, but i think it's just a wildflower

I think it is definately a perenial geranium. I have three surrounded by my garden as well as two blue ones. Once it has finished flowering, cut it rear and it should give you another show of flowers this year
It will come back every year and the clump will catch bigger. It's not a lilac. And it is a wildflower - this site might help:

It's not a malva, either.

Crap. Maybe it is the frantic geranium.

Answers:    geranium. The real one that is. The ones commonly call geranium are really pelargonium
It is unambiguously not a lilac. I agree it is a wild flower. They are only adjectives in area grown. Yes Perennial Geranium is correct or mallow
it looks like a species of Crane's-bil or Mallow
there are no leaves contained by the picture or any indication of size so i cant really tell for sure!

it is a wild flower but ALL frenzied flowers have names!!
i think its just a comman frantic flower It's a Malva... they are from the mallow family. Pretty!
thats a hardy geranium its a squally flower
