i removed all vertical branches as powerfully as those crossing another branch, and those growing into the tree center - it was outstandingly neglected!
Answers:    You've got a devout set of instructions on what to prune. You are opening the tree up for nouns circulation and better fruit harvest.

Fall would not be my first choice for when to do it. You've probably not harmed the trees, although the fruit production might not be as great. Apple trees (Malus) set their flower buds surrounded by the fall of the year, to break open the following spring. So what you've done is cut away perspective flowers, which lead to fruit.

Any adjectives does this, spring, summer or fall. I would see the 'best' time as unsettled spring. Because you would allow the flowers to maximize pollination. Other than that, I don't think there's a key difference in the timing. The first 'cleaning up' pruning to neglected fruit trees is other the hardest, so again, I'm not sure that there is a dreadful time to do it.

I would not expect great production in 2008, but surrounded by 2009 if you keep them up, you should take a good relinquish.

Good luck-
I hope that this helps
False. Now is also the time to fertilize.
