I live in a hi-rise on the pool rank. They obviously come within thru the window even if it is slightly accessible.
Answers:    You can sure reduce the number you see inside, except completely eliminate them. Follow these three steps:

1. Sanitation: Within one foot of your home, remove adjectives leaf litter, plastic, countryside timbers, paving stones, potted plants and any other material that can be a harborage for these pests. If you're not sure, turn the item over and see if in attendance are bugs living under it. If in that are, get rid of it or at least possible move it further away.

2. Mechanical Exclusion: Check your weatherstripping. This is easiest during the day - try to see street light coming in around your doors. If the centipedes come across to be more concentrated in a room that have a sliding glass door - you're out of luck. I've but to find a way to stamp those up along their bottom track.

3. Pesticide Application: By killing the food source of the centipedes, you'll prevent them from thriving. You can also wipe out the centipedes themselves. This is not a time to scrimp and try to save that extra penny. Spend the money to do the chore right, or spend the money on a professional to do it right.

Each of these steps will help moderate the centipede population. If you use more than one, the population will be even lower. For the fewest possible centipedes, do all three.
What in the order of installing screens. That would surely preserve them out!! Or you could put glue traps along your wndow sills.
