The site is on the northwest corner of my property and gets perchance an hours' worth of dappled sunlight on a sunny light of day. I think the previous owners may own had their kids' sandbox in that at some point as there is plentifully of sand in the soil contained by this corner as opposed to the rest of our clay lot. I'm thinking of something at lowest possible 6' tall. Ideas, anyone? Thanks!
Answers:    hydranga's obligation to be in full sun to bring the best bloom. Boxwood, Hosta, ferns, pjm and scintillation rhododendrons, azalea, lenten roses as well as Witch hazel do powerfully in shade. If you want something bigger I would recommend witch hazel, the other plants down don't get more than a few foot tall. The witch hazels will flower surrounded by march and own nice fall color.
Hydranga's can grow more or less 6 ft tall but it will pinch a few years...and it can also get up to 6 ft widespread. I needs a moment or two sun but mine is mostly in the shade and its doing lately fine. I also just purchased a Everblooming Gardenia that grow to be in the order of 4x4 an it blooms spring thru summer. Have you considered putting a tree there. An evergreen would do economically in low muted.
