At what temperature should I bring my petunias contained by? I have several sagging baskets and it still gets chilly here at hours of darkness and was thinking when it falls below a confident temp, I should bring them in, but not sure what that temp is. Please comfort me save my flowers! :)
Answers: I've lived here adjectives my life and it's better to be past the worst than sorry. We live about a mile from Lake Michigan, and the lagoon tends to hold on to us a little furnace, but I still cover or bring in plants if they are forecasting 35 or below. If you are in good health inland, or in a low lying nouns (cold air descends), you are more susceptible to chaotic frosts.
Some plants are more fragile also. Marigolds are probably the strongest and Petunias are mid-range, but Impatiens will turn to mush at the slightest frost.
If there is a prospect of frost then you should bring them surrounded by. Usually around 34 or so. It should be warm ample now where on earth you shouldn't have to verbs about them.
