Lavender grows naturally contained by pretty harsh conditions on dry swift draining, rocky hillsides in the Mediterranean nouns. It likes a great deal of sun and heat, and it does not involve a lot of moisture. In reality, it dislikes too much watering.

I have grown lavender here contained by Pennsylvania against a sunny wall for years. It is poor, acidic soil and it never get watered. I have never tried growing it inside, but I would guess it is difficult to provide ample sunlight. Also, you must use a sharply draining potting mixture to avoid keeping the plants too humid.
