a year old. I didn't consider it was going to receive so big!! Can I move it to another spot, out of my raised flower bed, into my wager on yard, at this time of the year? I am within se Louisiana, zone 9. Our temps are really high already, and we are within need of precipitation. I hear they are easily transplanted. It is smothering my vinca!
I agree with Kimberly. Wait until fall over to move it. This kind of warmness could kill it if you move it presently. I have one and debate about moving it and climax up just pruning it support. That was a few months ago, It's already as big as it be!

I'm told the butterfly bush is a weed in our nouns, WA. I love them so, hubby planted a couple for me.

He's moved them for customers at various times of the year and they did merely fine.

If in doubt, check near your local nursery...they can be very cooperative!

I am a landscaper and designer. You live contained by a sub-tropical zone. I would not recommend transplanting your Butterfly bush while it is hot, or in bloom. Pruning should be done within the fall. You can prune your Butterfly bush put money on in the fall down. I recommend this to my clients, to do pruning once a year. The bush will be full and plush the following year. This fall, jump ahead also and transplant your bush.

I will link you to the proper pruning page of my website. This will show you the right steps to lift to properly prune the bush.
