I hold gravel surrounded by my subsidise courtyard is in attendance anything i can do to plant grass over the gravel using top soil?

Answers:    Hi:
I am a landscaper and designer. Grass like plant specimens hold roots and they need to grow directly into the soil. I would recommend you remove the gravel, prepare your soil. Tilling is a suitable way to prepare your ground. Till over a few time once the gravel is removed. Rake out and apply your seed. You can put some straw or hay over the ground as this will help retain moisture. Get on a dutiful watering schedule.

Another suggestion after you remove the gravel is to rent an aerator. You can rent one at most rental places. This electrical device has tiny spikes at the fall and will put little holes in your ground. This is well brought-up for seed infiltration. I hope this helps some. I will contact you to the outdoor feature of my website. There is a page on sod versus core. You might get some thinking from this page. I will also link you to the site map, as this page have everything that is on the website. Browse through and see if you can find any other information that may be willing to help to you. Have a great day!

My suggestion would be to remove the gravel first. because if you do not, you will get hold of too much drainage and although the grass will initially grow, come any spell of dry weather and it will die. If you do not wish to remove the gravel you will want at least 9 inches of top soil to prevent the excessive hose down drainage, and that could be a tad expensive, good luck
