Answers:    Be patient. I move my Cannas indoors this time of year because of our freezing weather. They run dormant and appear to be dead. Once springtime is here and they grasp outside in the sun they come right posterior. Don't give up on it. Just hold it lightly watered and when your weather is mild ample set it outside. Plants go through a spell of shock when transplanted and divided. They need a time of rest previously they start growing again.
My cannas are dormant for a good partly a year. I dug them up in December (tops have died back, but corms be still good).

If your corm is sturdy, not mushy to the touch - it's probably fine. Just too early.

I put mine within a cool dark place until March or so. I'll start them inside contained by a pot sometimes, but mostly, I'll plant them directly in the ground in the region of 4 weeks before the end frost date.

Do you have yours surrounded by soil? Or just a nude bulb under a wispy? Plant it in soil, and save it moist, if you want it to grow early. You don't even want a light on it until it comes up. I plant mine going on for 6-8" down.
