Answers: Just stick it into a pot of soil, hang on to the soil moist, and give it some nice bright desk light. It should root in no time, and you'll enjoy your own basil plant :-)
If that doesn't work, they're easy to grow from pip, too.
You have to "root" it first. It is a uncomplicated thing to do. Just put it into a chalice of water and place it surrounded by window that get good sunlight. By the time Spring rolls around, it will be arranged to plant.
