I bought my wife a balcony tomato plant. The leaves own forthwith started to turn ashen. Why?
Answers: too much water--pot may not be large plenty for the roots to expand,,does your pot have drainage holes contained by the bottom?,,if not replant the tomato contained by a larger pot, good size is bout 2 foot in diameter and 2 foot tall or more,,,,fashion sure it has drainage hole,,,put some hulking gravel in the bottom,, or broken clay pots,,,so the potting soil will not stop up the holes,, if it is within direct sunlight all year ,,give it a flawless watering once a week, or insert your finger bout 1 inch deep,,if it s moist at 1 inch,, difficulty watering a day or 2,,, pour satisfactory water contained by it so as to come out the bottom,,,mix soluble fertilizer with the hose,,,each time,,mixing it 1/2 strength from the directions,,, be sure to provide a stake within or on side of pot to tie the vine to,,,
If the leaves are turning yellow , the roots obligation oxygen. Take a stick or pencil or something like that and poke 3 or 4 holes roughly speaking as deep as the plant is planted and move about around the entire plant. In other words , make a circle of holes around the entire plant. The dirt around tomato plants desires to be kept loose , not packed down , so that the roots can carry oxygen. If the dirt is firm , just poke some holes around as I mentioned , it will procure oxygen to the roots just similar to loose dirt will . Sometimes rain or watering will pack the dirt down. You a short time ago need to craft some small holes around it so the roots won't rot.
