I live in the Chicagoland nouns. What is the best way to winterize your plants so that they clear it through to the next year.

Answers:    I'm not sure what you plan by them being both tropical and hardy. They are any one or the other. A tropical hibiscus could not withstand a Chicago winter so you would need to bring it indoors until subsequent Spring and all peril of frost is over.
The Hardy (perennial) Hibiscus is hardy to zone 5 and can stay outside year round. It will die back during hibernation and afterwards reemerge next Spring.
